About the Recipe
I love candied yams and sweet potatoes around the holidays. I had a craving for some and my mom shared this great recipe for sweet butternut squash that tastes just like them (with or without the glaze) as a great substitute. Get into it and let me know how it turns out for you!

Ingredients
Veggies:
Frozen cubed butterntu squash (1-2 cups)Â
Toppings:Â
Candied WalnutsÂ
Spices: (season to taste)
Cinnamon (1 tsp)Â
Agave nectar (2-4 tbsp)Â
Nutmeg (just a dash)Â
Vanila extract (just a cap full)Â
Don't Forget:
Grapesee oil (1 tbsp)Â
Almond oil butter spread (2 tbsp)
Preparation
Step 1
place cubed butternut squash in a bowl and add spices
Step 2
mix well with hands or a spoon
Step 3
add Grapeseed oil to a pan on low heat
Step 4
add cubed butternut squash to your pan
Step 5
sautee your squash for 6-8 minutes
Step 6
Mix lightly and add almond oil butter
Step 7
Cover the pan and allow it to sit on low heat for 6-8 minutes or depending on how thick the butternut squash cubes are cut (mix occasionally as the steam begins to soften your squash)
Step 8
Once you can cut through it with a fork, it should be ready to eat (give it a taste and add more spices as needed) Â then serve on your favorite plate as a side topped with candied walnuts or right out of the pan
