Sweet Butternut Squash

About the Recipe

I love candied yams and sweet potatoes around the holidays. I had a craving for some and my mom shared this great recipe for sweet butternut squash that tastes just like them (with or without the glaze) as a great substitute. Get into it and let me know how it turns out for you!

Cook Time:

25 Minutes

  • Frozen cubed butterntu squash (1-2 cups)

  • Candied Walnuts

Spices: (season to taste)

  • Cinnamon (1 tsp)

  • Agave nectar (2-4 tbsp)

  • Nutmeg (just a dash)

  • Vanila extract (just a cap full)

Don't Forget:

Step 1

place cubed butternut squash in a bowl and add spices

Step 2

mix well with hands or a spoon

Step 3

add Grapeseed oil to a pan on low heat

Step 4

add cubed butternut squash to your pan

Step 5

sautee your squash for 6-8 minutes

Step 6

Mix lightly and add almond oil butter

Step 7

Cover the pan and allow it to sit on low heat for 6-8 minutes or depending on how thick the butternut squash cubes are cut (mix occasionally as the steam begins to soften your squash)

Step 8

Once you can cut through it with a fork, it should be ready to eat (give it a taste and add more spices as needed)  then serve on your favorite plate as a side topped with candied walnuts or right out of the pan
